Happy 3 years, Joshua!

This post is a little overdue... Josh & I celebrated 3 years of marriage last week! It was amazing: neither of us had to study, neither of us had to work, neither of us had any responsibilities at all that day! So we got up early and went to get coffee together. Then we took a long drive through the rolling hills of Missouri. We drove through the Missouri Weinstrasse, a 2 lane highway through the Missouri River Valley. We went to Augusta Winery, Mt. Pleasant Winery, and Montelle Winery.

At Montelle, we did the tasting and then bought lunch and sat on a huge deck overlooking a beautiful countryside. We enjoyed the view and good conversation and introduced Hunter to bar-b-que pizza.

Then we drove back toward home and stopped at Barnes & Noble. We bought Hunter the cutest little book about the alphabet. A friend introduced me to this author and he is my new favorite children's author.

After we got Hunter put to bed, a friend of ours came over and did his studying here so that we could go out for a nice evening alone. It was so nice of him. Josh & I went to the Chocolate Bar---AMAZING! We had planned on going to a movie but we got caught up in conversation and ended up talking until past 11. Since we both had to work the next morning, we decided to not go to the movies. But the night was perfect. It was so nice to relax and enjoy each other.

2 years

This weekend Josh and I celebrated 2 years of marriage. CRAZY! Both of our lives have changed so much since we said, "I Do" in Denver. Changed in a good way, of course. I have moved across the country, obtained a real estate license, taken a few masters courses, made a lot of new friends, traveled to Italy, been pregnant, had a baby, and learned that life with my family is really sweet.

To celebrate, we hired two babysitters (sisters) to take care of Hunter one evening and we went to the Melting Pot. Wow, it was so good. I really enjoyed the time with my husband and the food was delicious.

Then, on our actual anniversary, Josh took the day off and we went to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This is a stretch of undeveloped beach that is more than 100 miles long. It was beautiful. The drive was incredible and our time at the beach was fun. Hunter did great. We put him on a towel and then pushed our beach chairs together and placed another towel over him. He loved looking at the colors and seeing the light come through the weave.

Hunter got to be in the ocean for the first time! I moved my chair close to where the waves were shallow and mostly foam and held his tiny little feet in the water. He seemed pretty unaffected by the water-- but it was awesome for mommy and daddy to put our 9 week old in the Atlantic Ocean!!!

I love the ocean. I find the sounds relaxing and I love the sun. But I found myself more enchanted with Hunter than the water. Who knew a little guy could be so fascinating????

I am so in love with my son....

Unfortunately, there are no pictures from our NC day. Boo... I dropped the camera and now it will not turn on. Looks like we get to buy a new one! So the picture I share today is from our dinner at the Melting Pot!

Yay for 2 years with an incredible man. I love you Josh!
